iPOP Alum Karan Brar and Kamran Lucas Cast in New Series

iPOP Alum Karan Brar and Kamran Lucas are appearing in the upcoming animated Disney Series, Mira: Royal Detective. The series is a showcase of diversity, bringing together a star-studded cast of Hollywood’s most prominent Indian actors and actresses.



Kamran and Karan will both voice major characters in the animated children’s show debuting this year on Disney Jr. Kamran is voicing the role of Prince Neel, a talented inventor and friend to Royal Detective Mira with Karan voicing Prince Veer.


Taking place in Julpar, a magical land inspired by the culture of India, Mira, voiced by newcomer Leela Ladnier, solves mysteries for commoners and royals alike. Some of the cast for the series’ will also include Freida Pinto (“The Path”) as Queen Shanti, Kal Pen (“Designated Survivor”) as Mikku and Chikku, Jameela Jamil (“The Good Place”) as Mira’s Auntie Pushpa; Aasif Mandvi (“Shut Eye”) as Mira’s father.


Matthew Tishler (“Fancy Nancy”) and Jeannie Lurie (“The Muppets”) are producing and writing music for the show, with music from composer Amritha Vaz (“Miss India America”).

Karan Brar and Kamran Lucas have both led successful careers on Disney Channel. After attending iPOP LA, both actors went on to landing lead roles on the networks hit shows. Aside from Mira, viewers can catch Kamran on Disney’s Mech-X4, in his series regular role of Harris Harris Jr. Karan’s next project is in the Disney+ Feature Stargirl premiering this year. Best known roles include Disney’s Jessie and Bunk’d, Karan continues to shine.


An official premiere date has not been set for Mira, Royal Detective with the show still currently in production. Viewers can expect to see the series hit airwaves sometime this year based on its 2020 pending release.
